The primary reactions are Ethylene + H2O =ethanol 2Ethanol = Diethyl Ether + H2O The reaction takes place at 560 K and 69 bars, and about 7% conversion of the cthylene is obtained. The equilibrium constant for diethyl ether production at these conditions is about K 0.2. The feed streams are pure water and an ethylene stream containing 90% ethylene, 8-ethane, and 2% methane.
