SOLUTION  Given The over all efficiency of the electric power station is 30%. The coal consumption is 4200 Kg per hour The heating value (the heat generated by 1Kg of coal )  is 6000 kcal per Kg To find : total electric energy produced per day in MWhr Since the coal consumed in one hour is 4200 Kg . So, the coal consumed in one day (i.e. in 24 hour ) will be given by: Coal consumed ( per day )=4200 xx24Kg   Since the heat generated from one Kg of coal is 6000 kcal . So, the total heat generated by the coal consumed per day  , will be given by: heat generated ( per day )=6000 xx Coal consumed ( per day ) =≫ heat generated ( per day )=6000 xx4200 xx24 kcal Since we know that , 1kcal=4.184k So, the heat generated per day (in kJ): =≫ heat generated ( per day )=6000 xx4200 xx24 xx4.184kJ =≫ heat generated ( per day )=6xx4.200 xx2.4 xx4.184 xx10^(7)kJ =≫ heat generated ( per day )=253.048 xx10^(7) ...
